Merrimack Veterinary Hospital in Merrimack boarding

Pet Boarding Merrimack, NH

Your Pet's "Home Away from Home"

At our facility, there is no need for an appointment for inspection. We welcome your visit anytime! Here are some facts about our boarding facility:

  • We accept dogs and cats for boarding.
  • Puppies and elders are given extra exercise and play time, additional bedding, and cage cleaning.
  • Important: We will ask you to supply us with the phone number where you can be reached in case of an emergency.

All boarding guests need to have had a veterinary exam within the year. All dogs must have an annual bordetella vaccine while all dogs and cats must be current with their rabies and distemper vaccinations. All cats must have an annual leukemia test and both cats and dogs must be free of internal and external parasites. This assures protection for your pet and others. If your pet receives medical services elsewhere, it is your responsibility to bring the information to MVH. We will not accept dogs or cats for boarding without this documentation. Our fax number is 429-2194.

Please view our disease prevention standard for more information.

  • The food that we provide for all of our boarding dogs and cats is Eukanuba Low Residue (an easily digestible diet to help prevent stomach upset). If you would prefer to bring your own food, we require that all dry portions are in individual bags per meal. We feed the dogs twice per day but we can certainly accommodate a third meal if needed.
  • We provide bedding, toys, treats and food storage containers if you choose to bring your own food. Therefore, we do not accept personal items from home. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For a small additional charge we can supply your dog with a "tasty Kong toy" treat each day. We routinely freeze Kong toys of various sizes filled with yummy peanut butter. Most dogs will lick and lap at them for hours each day, thus preventing boredom and helping to relieve anxiety. Dogs absolutely love them!
  • If your pet is on medication, we will administer it during the boarding stay. Please bring the medication with you in the original labeled packaging. There is a daily charge for medication and insulin administration. If your pet is on insulin, please allow extra time during admission, as you are required to meet with a veterinary nurse so we are sure we understand your pet's status. You should try to adjust your pet's insulin schedule so that it will be similar to the administration schedule we use for boarding diabetics.

Call early for a reservation, especially during the holidays or vacation times.

Please note: Check out is 11 am. You will not be charged for another day if you pick your pet up before this time.

  • Boarding guests may arrive or depart Monday thru Friday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm or Saturday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Our Sunday hours for pick up only are 9:00 am –11:00 am and 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Clients arriving before or after these times will be charged a fee of $40.00.
  • Payment is due at the time of pick-up. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and personal checks.
