dr. Jim Whitebone
Veterinarian

Dr. Whitebone joined the staff of the Merrimack Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2005.  He grew up locally in Wilmington, MA and earned his B.S. in Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. 

He was trained at Purdue University where he obtained his DVM degree.  At Purdue, Dr. Whitebone concentrated his studies on small animal medicine and exotics.  His special interests were in animal behavior, dentistry, and cardiology.

He practiced for over two years at a progressive small animal clinic outside of Chicago, IL prior to joining our staff.  He routinely performed innovative procedures including laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, and laser surgery at his former practice.  He was a member of AAHA where he learned to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery including the use of advanced pain management measures.

Dr. Whitebone is a devout New Englander who loves the outdoors, the Red Sox, Patriots, and sadly even the Boston Bruins.  He currently resides in Nashua, NH with his wife Sara and two cats - Cornelius and Penelope.
